At the heart of every DAC lathe is the air-bearing spindle and slide system. Air-bearing technology eliminates the friction, wear, and vibration artifacts introduced by mechanical bearings — delivering the sub-nanometer position resolution that specialty contact lens and IOL/ICL surface accuracy demands. The ALMe’s DC linear servo motor-driven slides with linear encoder feedback provide precise, repeatable positioning across every axis. A passive pneumatic vibration isolation system — isolating frequencies above 7 Hz inflated, and above 14 Hz deflated — ensures the production floor’s ambient vibration never compromises your lens surface finish.

The ALMe ships with DAC’s industry-leading lens manufacturing software, including more than 50 built-in lens design algorithms. DAC Script Language covers the full range of specialty contact lens and IOL/ICL geometries: spheres, aspheres, torics, bi-torics, multifocals, quad-sym designs, and highly customized freeform surfaces. Import points files in virtually any format — text, binary, meridian, spiral, wave corrected — and integrate seamlessly with third-party software platforms. Multi-task capability lets operators enter job data for the next run while the current run completes, keeping output continuous. Barcode and disk input virtually eliminate manual data entry errors at scale.
