DAC’s on-lathe Laser Engraving option integrates a high-performance laser directly into the DAC machine platform — enabling precise engraving of logos, identification marks, lot numbers, axis references, and diagnostic marks on specialty contact lenses, IOLs, and ICLs without removing the lens from the machine.
The DAC laser engraving software supports both graphic and alpha-numeric content, giving manufacturers the flexibility to engrave proprietary logos, orientation indicators, regulatory identification, and custom marking schemes on the same machine that cuts the lens. Engraving depth is precisely controlled, with an optional final cleanup cut for consistent mark definition. DAC’s pulsed beam approach minimizes heat delivered to the lens material during engraving — protecting surface quality and material integrity.
