Overview
The DAC Reference Mark Locator (RML) uses visual recognition via a CCD camera to identify features or contrasting marks on lens blanks seated in the spindle collet — and uses that mark as a registration point for precise orientation and machining of the desired lens design or geometry.
Unlike electro-mechanical sensing (as used in the XLS), the RML operates through visual recognition — making it applicable wherever a contrasting mark or feature can be applied to the lens blank. Once recognized, the mark is linked to the part program via the reference software, and all required calibration routines are executed automatically. The RML is supplied complete with recognition software, reference software link to the part program, and all calibration routines.
