Overview
Diamond tool manufacturers specify the height of each diamond tool on the packaging — and those heights vary from tool to tool, even within the same batch. That variation, if not compensated for, translates directly into dimensional inconsistency in the finished lens. DAC Digital Tool Holders give operators a fast, accurate, on-machine method to compensate for diamond height differences between tools.
Standard DAC tool holders are reconfigured with a compact digital gauge providing more than 5 mm of travel. The operator reads the height value indicated on the diamond tool packaging, dials in the difference directly at the tool holder, and proceeds — no full recalibration cycle, no separate measuring equipment. It is a small change with a meaningful impact on changeover time and lens-to-lens dimensional consistency.
- Compact digital gauge with 5+ mm travel — built into standard tool holder configuration
- Compensates directly for diamond height variation indicated on tool packaging
- Faster tool changeover — no full recalibration cycle required for height compensation
- Consistent lens dimensions across tool changes — reduces scrap from height-related variation
- Compatible with ALMe, ALM, and MLC platforms
