Overview
Heat and swarf management during lens machining directly affect both lens surface quality and diamond tool life. The DAC Misting System adds precisely positioned coolant delivery to each tool position on the machine — independently activated and individually adjustable via the DAC software interface.
The coolant mist reduces heat generated at the tool-lens interface during machining. It also captures powdered swarf before it can settle on the lens surface or build up on the diamond tool tip — two of the most common contributors to surface quality degradation and premature tool wear in specialty contact lens, IOL, and ICL production. The result is the possibility for improved surface quality, extended diamond tool life, and more consistent production across longer runs.
- Per-position spray nozzles — independently activated and adjusted via DAC software
- Reduces machining heat at the tool-lens interface
- Captures powdered swarf for easier extraction and reduced tool build-up
- Improves lens surface quality consistency across long production runs
- Extends diamond tool life — reduces tooling cost per lens
- Software-controlled — no manual adjustment needed mid-run
- Compatible with ALMe, ALM, MLC, and 100A platforms
