Carpinteria FacilitySince incorporation in 1964, DAC has grown to become the world's leading supplier of computer controlled lathes and milling machinery for the production of contact and intraocular lenses. 

   DAC is a vertically integrated company that designs the mechanical, electronic, software and automation components of all its products. The lathes and milling machines are constructed on heavy steel frames with granite bases to ensure stability at submicron accuracy.

   Fabrication, testing and customer training are done in Carpinteria, California, USA We are 1.5 hours north of Los Angeles International Airport by car, or 20 minutes from the Santa Barbara Airport.

   It is estimated that DAC International commands more than 75% of the world market for this equipment. In addition, DAC lathes and mills are used for the ultra-precision machining of plastics and non-ferrous metals.

   In June 1999, a management group bought the company from its Dallas, Texas based parent. Simultaneously, a breakthrough Spectacle Lens Surfacing System was introduced to the market. This system is founded on the same technology that captured the Contact Lens/Intraocular Lens markets, characterized by superior reliability and end product quality, and backed by world-class service.
