Since its incorporation in 1964, DAC has grown to become the world’s leading supplier of computer controlled lathes and milling machinery for the production of contact and intraocular lenses.
DAC is a vertically integrated company that designs the mechanical, electronic, software and automation components of all its products.
Fabrication, testing and customer training are done in Carpinteria, California, USA. We are 1.5 hours north of Los Angeles International Airport by car, or 20 minutes from the Santa Barbara Airport.
It is estimated that DAC International commands more than 75% of the world market for contact and intraocular lens production equipment. In addition, DAC lathes and mills are used for the ultra-precision machining of plastics and non-ferrous metals.
In 1999, the DAC Spectacle Lens Surfacing System was first introduced to the market. Based on the proven technology utilized in our contact and intraocular lens line, the DAC RxD Lathe and Specialty Lens Menu Software provided the first digital surfacing technology available in the spectacle lens industry.
Under the guidance of our dedicated, experienced management team, DAC International has developed and maintained a worldwide reputation for excellence in quality, innovation and service.
